I’m in DC this week for the Realscreen Summit - a networking event for people who work in the non-fiction film & television industry. I’m excited to go, as many of my friends from both History and Discovery will be there. There aren’t any screenings of films (like at the Jackson Hole Wildlife Film Festival) but there are a number of worthwhile seminars, panels, and discussion groups about trends in the non-fiction space. There will also be some fun networking events, so plenty of schmoozing this week. If anything of interest happens, I’ll report it via Twitter.

Looks to be a worthwhile event! Curious to note the absence of National Geographic, though.
Enjoy! Hope you packed warm - DC should be seeing a spot of nasty weather this week!

Hi josh, Happy Groundhogs Day! I read, via your twitterfeed, the GOOD NEWS! “The Cove” has been nominated in the catagory of Best Documentary Film! Fantastico!! How thrilling for you to be “front & center” at Reelscreen with Louie Psihoyos. And have the great good fortune to meet & congratulate him on his work! Please let him know how we, “your community”, are also behind saying; “Bravo Louie & all who were involved in the making of this very important documentary film. Your all winners as far as were concerned!” -Esther
