Mystery Explored: Egypt’s Lost King
Expedition Dates: March 30 - April 13, 2008

Summary:

The 18th Dynasty pharaoh Akhenaten β€” father of Tutankhamen and husband of Nefertiti β€” was perhaps the most controversial pharaoh in history. He abandoned the old gods o Egypt and adopted monotheism. He abandoned the capital and built a new city in the desert to worship his new god, the Aten. I explored the family and the landscape of Akhenaten on a quest for clues to explain the actions of β€œthe heretic king.”
